Socktober Success by Lauren H.
This past month, HIJH has been participating in Socktober. Socktober helped donate 251 pairs of socks to a local school in need. I met with the principal of that school to give the school the socks, and he said that 251 pairs of socks would be enough for almost every kid in the school to get a new pair of socks. The generous donations of our school will help ensure that no child at the school has to go without a pair of socks.

The importance of independent reading

Humanitarian Project #1 - DUE Tues, Nov. 28th!
Year-Long Humanitarian Projects
• This year students will have the opportunity to show 3 different humanitarian acts within the community.
• Each project will be documented with a picture of the student performing the act/event and a short paragraph. These will be displayed all year to celebrate our acts of good will.
• Between Mrs. O'Rourke's and Ms. Hill’s class, it is our goal to perform 300 acts within our community.
• We will also be brainstorming different project ideas within our school and school community.
