A grateful heart

My heart is grateful for..

...Carrie Lee, who will be welcoming a new student Monday. This student will be returning to our campus and will require some significant work on her part to assimilate him into her classroom. I appreciate her positive attitude!

...Jayne, Christina Hayes, Meagan and Megan, Andrea and Karen who acted silly for the Talent Show and delighted everyone in attendance. We all know that Karen can ham it up, but Andrea has some seriously good comedic timing! The students and parents loved it and they were great sports.

...Andrea, Laura, Lydia, Heidi and Mary Huber who have all been working very hard to meet the needs of a student requiring lots of extra meetings and communications.

Employee Survey

We were scheduled to take the survey last Thursday and I blew it! Completely forgot to say anything.

So, for the second Monday in a row and to say thank you in advance, we'll wear jeans on Monday...but you have to fill out the survey if you do! You can do it on your computer or in the computer lab. I can assure you that it's anonymous (I have no idea who says what) and that we do pay attention to the information. There is a box this year for comments, so if you have some thoughts to share, please do so.

Employee Satisfaction Survey begins February 1st! The date you have chosen for your staff to take the survey is in the Google drive (Employee Survey). Please remember that the link will be live on your school website from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. on the date you have selected.

Your staff will simply need to do the following: (Please remember that you and your AP are included and should take the survey on the assigned day.)

  1. Go to any computer and sign in to the campus website.
  2. Go to the Departments and Programs tab and select Library.
  3. On the library webpage, there will be a link to the 2016 Employee Satisfaction Survey.
  4. Click on the link, answer the questions and close the tab. This year there are two questions with open-ended responses. This is new and will allow for additional information to be provided.

The survey is absolutely anonymous. If you have staff members who feel that by signing in, they are being tracked or are losing the confidentiality, please log in for them or have the technician do this. We are not able to see what log in is used. We need employees to log in as this is the only way to prevent non-employees from accessing the survey.

Small group minutes

This week's percentages:

Small group reading: 85%

Reading video

This is a 30 second video that Cindy Felker created and sent to some of the primary reading teachers. I wanted you to see it for 2 reasons: 1) it's a great strategy for helping students who have difficulty with decomposing words 2) this is also a great way to share ideas that I hope we can take advantage of more in the future!

If you have something that works that might benefit other people, let me or Jeanette know and one of us can film and send the link so you don't have to.
