November 2021

It finally feels like fall - in the air, in the colored leaves, and in the school building. New students and 9th graders are starting to get the feel of things at Woods. Our sports teams are wrapping up tremendous seasons. Seniors are submitting college applications and receiving news back. It's time to take a deep breath!

Keep an eye on your email for news about the Dec. 4 Into the Woods 5K and other all-school doings.

We Keep on Growing!

Homework Moratorium

High school students will have NO homework Nov. 10-15. This is a high school-wide break from school responsibilities to allow some time off.

Governor's School 2022 Reminder

G11 students interested in being considered as a potential candidate for the 2022 NC Governor's School program should submit a statement of interest by Nov. 10.

T1 Report Cards

Trimester 1 ends on November 19. T1 grades will be updated for students and families on Monday, Nov. 29 by 5:00pm.

Please note PowerSchool will be closed Nov. 19-29.

Well-being and Being Well

After Thanksgiving break, we will launch Wellness Wednesdays through December. Wednesday's class schedule will be adapted and students will be able to select a stress-free afternoon activity. Activities will support reflection, connection, or recreation, all essential parts of well-being. More information on the specifics coming soon.

Mid-term Exams

High school students will take mid-term exams December 15-17. The regular class schedule will be suspended and there will be a morning and an afternoon exam session. The Exam Schedule will be published in December.

College Information Sessions

College admissions reps will hold some in-person information sessions on campus this year. They will be announced as they are scheduled. All high school students invited to join in the Glade.

COVID testing and information

COVID testing continues to be available on Thursdays at school. Results come within 24 hours.
