Note from Mr. Whitelaw - Physical Education Teacher
Hello Peterham Center School Community, my name is Bob Whitelaw Physical Education teacher here at PCS. I am looking forward to a great year filled will high levels of activity and fun. This year in PE we will be actively participating in cooperative games, individual and group challenges, traditional games, and some team sports. Students are scheduled to have PE on Tuesdays and Wednesday throughout the school year.
Just a few reminders for PE class. On PE days please make sure your child dresses for the weather, there will be days that we go outside for class. Comfortable clothing that allows the students to move around easily is great. Please make sure students have sneakers to wear on PE days. We will be doing a lot of moving around during class Also, I have told students to bring water bottles to PE class. A simple water bottle will be just fine you don't need to go out and buy a special fancy water bottle. Simple Poland Spring type bottles will work. Hydration during class is very important, and having a water bottle in class would be great. If they run out of water they can always refill up a water bottle.
Again, I'm looking forward to teaching such enthusiastic and eager students. We are primed to having a fun and exciting year.

Fresh Produce, Music, and Footcare by Nurses - August 31st Petersham Market
Party of 2 combines the vocal and instrumental talents of Keri Klee and Andrew Banas. This pair of vocalists have years of performance experience and musical training. Keri and Andrew have a versatile repertoire of duets, upbeat tunes and solo selections covering an acoustic blend of songs from several decades including classic rock, oldies, modern pop, country, a little something for everyone and a few surprises along the way.
Kate Clayton-Jones will join us to present information about Footcare by Nurses, a local program of home visits for seniors.
A dozen or more Friday Market vendors offer produce, locally grown meats, baked goods, organic eggs, herbal teas, live plants and cut flowers, health care items, craft items and information about events, healthcare and social services in our area.
The organizers, vendors and fans of the Petersham Friday Market thanks Petersham Town Meeting voters for a donation to the market's 2018 music program. The market also receives support from Heywood Healthcare, The Wild Geese Foundation, the arts council, Petersham Grange, Emily Arnold, Berube Real Estate, Waterwheel Realty and from weekly donations. Visitors can enter a free drawing to win a "Handful o' Cash" to spend at the market. Donate $10 and get a reusable "Get Fresh on the Common" shopping bag.
The weekly market from 3 to 6 p.m. is a community event presenting fresh local food from area farm families, offering a regular opportunity to enjoy visiting with the neighbors and featuring live music in a wide range of styles. The town common is accessible and welcoming to all.
