The Color Monster
The Color Monster by Anna Llenas is a story about emotions and offers a way to show young children how to make sense of their feelings. This book would be an excellent read-aloud for a child who is having a difficult day and offer a way to process their feelings and also validate their emotions.

Izzy is the main character in Pamela Butchart's Never Tickle a Tiger. Her problem? She can't sit still! She drives her family, her teacher, and her classmates crazy with her constant wiggling. One day during a field trip at the zoo, her teacher warns her never to tickle a tiger. Izzy can't help herself and decides to do it anyway. What will happen? Read Never Tickle a Tiger and find out!

Shelter by Celine Claire is a read-aloud that will elicit further discussion after the story has ended. A storm is coming to the woods and all of the animals take refuge in their dens to stay safe and dry. As the storm is at its worst, two brothers go to each den offering some tea in exchange for shelter. One by one each family refuses saying that they do not have any room to spare. What will the brothers do? Will they make it through the night without shelter to keep them warm? Read Shelter to find out.
