Happy Mother's Day to all moms who are members of our HTM community. I want to take time to honor you and the love and energy you have expended to ensure that your children are the best versions of themselves. We know it is a thankless job but you do it anyway, day in and day out. I hope that you have been celebrated deeply today and you felt the love from your family.

National Anthem Auditions for Promotion

Eighth Graders, if you sing well or play an instrument well and want to sing or play the national anthem at promotion, please email me via Jupiter Grades so that you can audition this week with me.

Eighth Grade Awards Night on May 25, 2023 @ 6:00pm

Eighth graders, if you are receiving an award and be recognized at promotion, you will receive an invitation to attend an Awards Night on May 25, 2023. Please put a hold on your calendar for this celebration event.

The following awards, which includes all of 7th grade year and the first semester of 8th grade, will be given:

1. Department Awards
2. Presidential Award (Scholarship GPA: 4.0)
3. Scholarship Award (Scholarship GPA: 3.7 - 3.99)
4. Citizenship Award (Citizenship Award: 4.0)
5. Reclassified Proficient Award (Students who became English Proficient this year)
6. Top Falcon Award (New Award for 8th Grader who exemplifies what it means to be a Falcon; nominated by teachers; interviewed and then selected by Ms. Finley)

Eighth Grade Promotion Information

Eighth Graders, promotion is just around the corner! Make sure that you take care of business with regards to you academics and behavior so that you can fully participate in all the festivities for promotion including the ceremony itself. Here is the LINK to the details of promotion. Promotion tickets will be passed out to all eighth graders during Advisory on May 22, 2023. Parents, please make sure that you have received it. If you have questions about getting more tickets or promotion, in general, please email Ms. Cruz at amy.cruz@sweetwaterschools.org.

Summer Bridge Program for Incoming 7th Graders

Families, if you have an incoming 7th grader, HTM will be offering Summer Bridge this summer for the very first time. It is a one-week program where students will be enrolled in two classes: 1) SEL/Study Skills Class and 2) Curriculum Camp. If you would like your incoming 7th grader to participate, please click HERE to enroll him. Our Summer Bridge Coordinate is Ms. Esparza. Current 7th Graders Who Have not Submitted Elective Forms for 8th grade

Seventh Graders, if you have not submitted your elective forms for next year, please complete it by this week. We have received 133 transfer students from other schools and they will be given unclaimed spots in electives in the next two weeks. Click on this LINK to submit your elective preference.

Summer School for Current 7th Graders with Fs

7th Grade families, if your 7th grader has received an F in Science, World Cultures, Math and English, they will be signed up to attend summer school to recover up to 2 Fs. Please talk to your counselors regarding summer school. Summer School begins June 5 and ends June 23. 2023. Please see the Summer Programs Flyer below.

Math Acceleration Summer Program

Current 7th Graders, if you are currently receiving a C or higher in Integrated Math 7 and would like to take Integrated Math 1 (a high school class) in 8th grade, please check with your teacher to see if you qualify to attend. Please read Summer Program Flyer below.

Registration Days for HTM

Parents, if you have not completed the registration process yet, please take advantage of our one-on-one services on these dates: June 6 - 7, 2023 from 1:00pm - 6:00pm. Let's make sure that your child is ready to start on day 1.

Read the information below regarding promotion. Once again, many of you have been asking if there has been a change in promotion requirements. To date, the requirements for participating in promotion is that you have to pass all your classes this semester. If we receive new information, I will pass the information to you as soon as we get it.

Promotion tickets will be given to 8th graders on May 22, 2023 during advisory. Students will need to sign-off upon receiving their tickets.
