At this time of year, it might be tempting to overlook behavioral infractions, but this is the perfect time to remind students of how important it is to maintain positive behavior every day. Keep behavior expectations high and heighten rewards for positive behaviors. Please continue to channel student’s energy in positive, productive ways, and make ordinary things special by adding some holiday sparkle. Remember you can also turn in positive behavior referrals.

Leo Tolstoy: "If you want to do a good deed, do it now. The time will pass, and you will not have the chance again."
Counselor's Flash
Ms. Kemp - National Kids Day was Friday. Help our students plan activities to celebrate it with family and friends. Have a Great Weekend.
Safety concern: There has been a recent report of doors being propped open at one of our sites so we are sending a friendly reminder out to all building leaders. We are asking principals to please reiterate to staff and students that exterior doors must be secured at all times to keep everyone safe.
Academics
- SHMS conducted our first SPELL walk. On this day students were observed engaged, district curriculum was observed being used, and SPED AND ELL students had access to STEAM materials. We need to be consistent.
- Concern across the spectrum is our pacing and using DISTRICT MATERIALS not handouts!
- Ongoing iReady skill development. Students are to spend 45 minutes per week enhancing their skills in both ELA & Math.
- Prepare for data conferences
