Most C2TX providers can delivery programs by request. If you find a program but it does not meet your scheduling needs, please contact the provider to coordinate a specific date and time. Click on "Provider Directory" to find their contact information.
Once you login and register for a program, you will have a registration portal. The portal will allow you to confirm, edit, or cancel your scheduled programs. Please cancel within 48 hours.

Beasts, Birds, and Bugs: The Art of Scientific Observation

Investigate ways artists have used scientific observation to represent the world around them. Through close looking, data collection, and hypothesizing, students will describe, identify, and classify creatures and their habitats depicted by various artists.

Draw Like Picasso

Your students will take a quick trip through the life of the artist Picasso. Learn about his styles of art, what influenced him, and how he influenced other artists. Then it is time to create! Each student will learn to draw a portrait in Picasso’s cubist style. During the connection the students will follow step-by-step instructions to complete their work of art. There will need to have a teacher willing to listen and help keep the students on track.
MATERIALS REQUIRED: Each student will need a 9x12 sheet of white paper, crayons, a pencil, and a black marker.

Explore the history of Lunar New Year celebrations while viewing artwork and artifacts from China and other Asian countries. After an investigation of lunar versus solar time cycles, students will enjoy the story of The Great Race and explore the history of the Chinese Zodiac Calendar. Following identification of their own Zodiac animal symbol- students will investigate Chinese tangrams. Through this traditional puzzle-art form, students will work to create each of the animals in the Chinese zodiac using a variety of shapes. This puzzle-activity will be excellent enrichment for your students' spacial and problem solving skills! Students will leave with a pocket-sized, reusable magnetic Tangram game they can share with friends.

People associate the word “cowboy” with “Texas” beginning with one specific time period in Texas history---the heyday of cattle drives. Although this era only lasted from 1866-1890, the cattle drive era shaped the image of Texas. Who started the cattle drives, and where did the trails go? What jobs could people do on a cattle drive, and what was life on the trail like? What were the risks and benefits of driving cattle to market? Hear from a special guest speaker, an 1870s cattle driver who has traveled through time to reminisce about his cattle drive experience.
