Winter Party Information
AM kindergarten parties will begin at 10:45-11:30am
PM kindergarten – 5th grade begin at 230pm - 3:15pm.
You can help us to keep our winter celebration day safely on track by following these easy guidelines!
All visitors must enter through the office and to receive a visitor sticker...even on party days!
Fall parties are from 2:30-3:15pm in the classrooms. Thank you to our many parent volunteers who help to make this a fun event for our students! Volunteers may go to the classrooms beginning at 2:15pm. We will be maintaining our normal daily schedule until then and parents will be asked to wait in the office so that disruptions to the classroom can be kept at a minimum.
As safety is always important, please remember that the parties are intended for Clear Creek Elementary students only. We do not have babysitting services during parties, so please make other arrangements for siblings if you intend to attend. This policy also applies to older siblings as well. All ages are more than welcome to join us for the parade but please do not plan to take siblings who do not attend Clear Creek down to the classrooms.
To help ensure transportation changes can be delivered to students and teachers, please call the Clear Creek office by 2:30pm. Each classroom teacher will have a Student Sign Out sheet available if parents wish to take their children home after the parties are over.

Change Coming To Fifth Grade
Sadly, one our 5th grade teachers, Mrs.. Allen will be leaving Clear Creek at the end of this semester because her husband was transferred for work and they will be moving out of state. To make the transition with their new teacher easier, Mrs. Allen's class had an opportunity to participate in an interview with Ms. Gartner, their new teacher. Students prepared interview questions to ask Ms. Gartner in an attempt to get to know her a little better. The hope is that this experience will allow students to emphasize and recognize the excitement of something new rather than focus on the sadness of change and loss. While we are very sad that Mrs. Allen is leaving and will miss her very much, we are also excited to welcome Ms. Gartner to 5th grade at Clear Creek. Please say hello and welcome Ms. Gartner if you see her around the building!
Goodbye Mrs. Allen! We will miss you and wish you well!
Students spend time getting to know Ms. Gartner.
Please help us welcome Ms. MaryKate Gartner to Clear Creek.
Author Jefferson Knapp visits CCE Students
Jefferson Knapp is from El Dorado, Kansas and this is his 6th year of full time writing. A graduate of Butler Community College, Knapp's career path has changed from stand-up comedian to children's book author. The Ending Feud is his third book in The Kingdom at the End of the Driveway series. He is thirty-five years old. He has a step son at K-State and he shared his love of animals with us and all the animals he had growing up (from a goat to dogs and a pot bellied pig).
Author Marsha Barrett
Marsha Barrett spent thirty-four years working with students in Johnson County as a teacher, principal, and district administrator. Her book Sammy Snail and His Cousin, Sedgwick Slug details most of the life of the snail and the slug, During her presentation, Mrs. Barrett read her story and visited with the students about how she was inspired to write her first book and some other details about publishing. She is also the grandmother of Charlie Barrett in 1st grade!
Did Your Child Enjoy the Two Authors Who Visited Last Friday?
Great news! Due to many parent requests, we are able to make the books offered from both Marsha Barrett and Jefferson Knapp available through a second chance order! Please see the attached order forms due with payment on January 8th, 2016. Please contact Dandra Arter at email@example.com or Allison Nelson at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions! Happy reading!

Our Clear Creek little artists are so excited for this time. So far this year our CCE artists have made over 2,200 artworks!! Your students will be compiling their fall work in art class this week and bringing it back home with them in a large (18”x24”) envelope. This week in December is about reflecting upon, celebrating and conserving student artwork.

This is the time of year when hats and hoods come out of the closet making it easy for lice to spread. Head lice do not create a medical crisis, but instructions must be followed precisely to eliminate lice and prevent re-infestation. Treatment includes 3 phases: treat the infested person, treat the household, and prevent re-infestation with a second treatment of the infested person.
