Ancient Greece
In ancient Greece, family roles have developed over time. Males were the head of the family. If males were not training for the military service or talking about politics they went to the Theatre of Entertainment. Lives of females in ancient Greece were tied to domestic work such as spinning, weaving, and other household chores. They were not allowed to leave the house without the husband’s permission.

In ancient rome women also took care of the children.Children in ancient Greece would normally occupied their time by playing with toys. Both men and women wore chiton. In ancient Greece beauty was also very important. While men were supposed to take an active role in the public lives of their city, women were supposed to live a private life as wives and mothers. In ancient Greece only males could be full citizens and make important decisions.

Difference between Ancient Rome and Greece
Extended families were supposed to be cared for in ancient Rome, but not in Greece. In free time, Greeks would go to the Theatre, but Romans would not. Although both women in ancient Rome and Greece had freedom, women in Greece had less.
