Come watch our One-Act Play "Las Soldaderas"
Please come watch our UIL One-Act Play (and LAST play of the year!) this Wednesday and Thursday, May 5-6, at 7pm OR Saturday, May 8 at 11am in the AMS Amphitheatre. This year's play is Las Soldaderas.
"Set in the Sierra Madre Mountains, this historic drama follows the lives of an intrepid band of female guerilla fighters who choose to pick up rifles to defend the poor and disenfranchised from the clutches of the corrupt Mexican government and their soldiers. The play explores what it means to be a woman, known as a “soldadera” (female soldier), in the face of great adversity, for they battle not only the enemy but also their own memories of loss, love, family, and betrayal. Each character allows a different facet of womanhood to shine -- innocence, first love, motherhood, independence, commitment, and loss. “Las Soldaderas” is filled with the strength, love, and commitment women develop with each other when they must work together to achieve a common goal: to defend the people from the rich landed gentry and gain absolute freedom."
Tickets are $5. You can make reservations with Mrs. Anthis, janthis@humbleisd.net, or you can purchase tickets at the door. Masks are required while viewing the production.
2nd and final course verification for next school year.
Hello AMS Tiger Family,
It's time to do your 2nd and final course verification for next school year.
Please view your child's 2021-2022 Course Request in HAC.
This is your child’s 2021-22 2nd and final course verification notice. If everything looks correct you do not have to complete the correction form. If you need to make a correction for your incoming 6th grade, current 6th or current 7th grader, please click this link and complete the form. LINK: AMS 2021-22 2nd and Final Course Verification Form
(FYI: all incoming 6th graders are required to take the Enrichment Wheel, it will be on the course requests and can not be removed)
If everything looks correct you do not have to complete the correction form.
If you need to make a correction for incoming AHS 9th graders there will be a separate email coming from that campus. (If your incoming 9th grader is attending other Humble ISD high schools please visit the campus website to contact the counselor)
The 2nd and final course verification correction form will close on Friday, May 7th @ 4:00pm. This is the final opportunity to make corrections/changes, to allow the campus to staff accordingly and prepare to run class schedules for all students in preparation for the new school year.
Thanks and please take care,

PAC Business (Changes in By-Laws)
The PAC (Parent Advisory Committee) is a board of 6 students, 3 staff, and 3 parents facilitated by the Principal (functioning similarly to a PTA/PTO) to serve our campus. Over the past two years here is everything planned & coordinated by the PAC:
- Halloween Haunted School & Dance
- Color Battle
- PBIS Rewards & PBIS Day
- "Thank You" bags for District Staff (with help from NJHS)
- Color War (upcoming May 21st)
New By-laws were written and/or revised at the March & April Board Meeting:
Proposing a review of the by-laws for the following recommendations:
Increase the term limits from 2 consecutive years to 3 consecutive years for students, staff, and parents as long as the students, staff, or parents are still actively enrolled or employed at AMS 2/4: PAC agrees to increase terms to 3.
Allow the facilitator role to be held by a parent or AMS staff member. The Principal would not be the PAC facilitator, but just a non-voting advisor to the PAC. 2/4: PAC agrees to remove principal as the sole facilitator.
PAC Needs You!
Additionally, based on revised by-laws, a Parent or Staff Member can be the PAC Facilitator. If you have questions about what that might be, please reach out to Karl Koehler at 281-641-4601.
