Teens Practicing Abstinence
Many adults agree that teens should practice abstinence to prevent STD's and also to prevent pregnant teens. On the other hand, many people disagree that teens need comprehensive sex educations that provides realistic information about how to protect themselves from pregnancy and STD's.
Sex Education
Comprehensive sex education helps teens delay sex and increases the use contraception and condoms when they do become sexually active. Research shows sex education and access to contraception make a really big difference in preventing teen pregnancy. In 2010, two evidence based programs were initiated in an effort to reduce teen pregnancy and increase the use of contraception's. Most parents believe in abstinence just so there kids don't have sex at a young age and to respect their body until they get married. Parents also think that even using some types of protection doesn't always prevent pregnancy or STD's
