Child Care Chalkboard

November 1-30

Theme of the Month: Thankfulness

Big picture

Closed for Thanksgiving

We will be closed Thursday, November 28 and Friday, November 29 for Thanksgiving.

Pajama Day--Roly Polys, Wiggleworms, Butterflies, Busy Bees (see special note below) and SD 5 Youth Center

We would like to encourage your child to participate in a PJ Party, Thursday, November 1st!

After a late night of Trick or Treating, wake up and come in your Pajamas!

Items for Fall/Winter

As much as we hate to say it, it's time to start bringing winter clothing. Please make sure your child has gloves, hat and a winter jacket. Snow pants and boots are a must once the snow starts to fly, but some children also like them for warmth before the snow.

We do take the children outside at least once a day. Our outdoor policy reads:

We try to go outside every day. We are not staffed to keep children inside when everyone else is outside. Please make sure your child has the proper clothing to go outside every day. Our policy in the winter is as follows: 15 degrees and below – Don’t go out

16 – 25 degrees – 30 minutes max. 26 degrees and above – Staff discretion

Daylight Savings

Don't forget to set your clocks back on Sunday, November 3.

Annual Thanksgiving Program

We will be having our annual Thanksgiving Program/Lunch on Wednesday, November 27 at 12:00. We will have the program in the church sanctuary, followed by lunch in the church fellowship hall. We invite all family and friends to attend, we simply need a count for the meal preparation.

School Picture Re-take Opportunity

November 21

Swan Lake Studio will be at Trinity School on November 21st re-taking individual pictures of kids. If you missed the first opportunity, or would like to have pictures re-taken, please talk to your child's teacher. (Ordering can be done online; or with an order form.)

Parent/Teacher Conferences

We will be offering Parent/Teacher Conferences for all children that attend 3 or more days each week. The conferences will be Monday, December 2nd and Thursday, December 5th. Watch for sign-up sheets later this month.

Kids Say the Darndest Things

One of the 2 year olds was wearing some dress up cowboy boots. Somebody else wanted them and she responded, "I bought these with my own money."

Immunization Update

When your child receives new immunizations, please bring those records in to the office. We must keep immunizations up to date on all children. Our records are checked yearly to make sure all children are current. Thank you for your help in this matter.

Cold & Flu Season--Sick Policy

For the protection of all the children, and our staff, your child should be kept at home if signs of illness are showing such as:

a. Temperature of 101 degrees or more (must be fever free without medication for 24 hours before returning) or 100 degrees if other symptoms are present

b. Sore or discharging eyes, ears or throat

c. Intestinal disturbance, diarrhea, or vomiting (must be free of symptoms for 24 hours before returning)
