The children have been working very hard even with all the excitement of the upcoming Winter Break. I hope you have some memorable time with your families and friends during this school break. Classes will resume on January 2, 2024.

December 22-January 1 NO SCHOOL for Winter Break
January 2 Classes resume!
January 15: No School for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
January 16-17: No school for Professional Development days
January 18: The first day of second semester!
Our Curriculum for January 2-5
Reading: Students will write narrative poems about the sun. They will use spaces, capital letters, punctuation, whole sentences, and vocabulary from our unit. They will practice speaking and listening skills by sharing their poems with the class.
Foundations: The students will practice reading and writing the sight words: do, yes, and much and words with two syllables. We will read the story: Pat's Backpack.
Math: The children will begin unit 4: Numbers to 99. During the first lessons, the students will count large collections of objects and learn to record their amounts using tens and ones. They will begin adding and subtracting with tens.
