Staying the Course ~ Week of 8.31.15

Kudos!!

Congratulations for a successful first week of school! Last Monday, we had the honor of greeting scholars and their families as they arrived at our school. We had a super busy day getting to know each other and reviewing class expectations. Ms. Flores kept enrolling students every day and many of our classes are looking fairly large. Our last count was over 700 scholars enrolled at Kiest. Finally, I welcome Friday with Coffee with the Principal meeting with parents to go over last year's test results. Yes, we survived the first week of school and now I can't wait until Monday! Proud to Staying the Course of Success!!!
Teaching Kids How to Speak in Complete Sentences

Encourage your scholars to show off their top-notch listening and speaking skills

As a best practice it is imperative that our scholars speak in complete sentences. Speaking in complete sentences helps build academic language and confidence in using standard language. It is imperative that our scholars become successful communicators in order to promote college readiness in our All Stars learners.
