St. Luke Weekly SMORE
October 3, 2021
Dear St. Luke Community,
As we look forward to Thanksgiving, there are many things, despite some of the obvious challenges, that we can be thankful for.
We are thankful for our students who come to school every day ready to learn – they give us all a daily reminder of what is important and why we are here. We are thankful for the support of the parents in creating an outstanding partnership for our students. We are thankful for the teachers, educational assistants, bus drivers, secretaries, support staff, and administrators who really care about student achievement and have the best interests of our students at heart. We are also thankful for the school council who volunteer their time and enthusiastically contribute so much to our school.
In these challenging times, we see dedicated individuals going above and beyond to make sure that great things happen in our school. They do make a difference, and the children, in their own individual ways, benefit from those efforts.
Most importantly, we are thankful for the parents that have kept the faith in us. They continue to share their most valuable possession with us and—in most cases— work hard and advocate to be a partner in their children’s education, safety and well-being. For this, we are ever so thankful.
I would like to wish all of you and your families a happy, healthy and relaxing Thanksgiving holiday!
Mrs. Cathy Hinger

FOOD BANK
This week the Leadership group is organizing a food drive for the Strathcona Food Bank with the hopes to bring food to people for Thanksgiving. More information will be coming out on Monday with some of the specific items the Food Bank is needing at this time.
WE ARE AN APPLE SCHOOL!
Library is going great with safety protocols in place. Masks and sanitizing are mandatory in the library, so everyone can be safe as they choose their books and enjoy some quiet reading or a story.
Thanks everyone!
