Flight Check
Many Jefferson Jets NEVER get the chance to come check out books from the library. If you need something for your Flight Check students to do, have them read silently. That would give them 45 hours of reading time this year. Please sign up to bring your students sometime this month or send small groups who need to return books or check out. Everybody deserves some library time!
Lunchtime PD
Join us in the library on January 13th during A or B lunch for a quick introduction to Encyclopedia Britannica. This is a database that is paid for by our district and much more reliable than a basic Google search. Learn how to use the features to enhance your research projects.
Something to Try
Lodge McCammon has developed his lessons to incorporate different student strengths while keeping rigor and curriculum standards in mind. Check out the cross- curricular ideas on his website that go perfectly with our training on poverty and reaching all kids. He is working on songs about each of the 50 states. Click the link below to hear the song.
Book Carts
What is your curriculum focus this week? Let me know and we will deliver a cart of resources to your class for your students to read and use.

Jet Reading Challenge
Are you looking to read more this year? Try out our Jet Reading Challenge! Staff and students who read at least 5 books for the challenge can turn in their forms in May and be invited to a pizza party during lunch!
Don't have time to pick out the books but you do want to participate? Let me know and I'll pick a collection of books from the categories you'd like to complete. Print the form below for yourself or your students. More available in the library.
