NEASC survey
Students will be engaged this week in the survey. We hope to learn more about what is working well for our students and identify areas for growth and improvement. Every student will have an opportunity to complete the survey during the school day.
Teachers completed the survey last week during the release day.
Case families will also be surveyed. Watch for an email from the school after February break with the link to the survey.
We ask that every family complete one survey. You do not need to complete multiple surveys if you have more than one student in the school. The survey is mobile-ready and can be completed on a computer, tablet, or phone.
The NEASC CPS Opinion Surveys have been developed in collaboration with Tripod Education Partners. The survey items have been aligned with the 2020 Standards for Accreditation and are intended to provide schools with meaningful data on their alignment to the Standards with a focus on the experience of students, families, and faculty in the school. Surveys are entirely online.
Schools find the data useful and meaningful for both reflection and planning.
REMINDER BCC Enrollment-Palooza this Thursday
Bristol Community College’s Office of Admissions in conjunction with its Financial Aid Office, Testing Center, and the Office of Academic Advising will be at Joseph Case High School on Thursday, February 13, 2020, offering an Enrollment-Palooza to seniors who plan on attending Bristol Community College.
Enrollment-Palooza is an "on-the-spot admissions" event that combines the initial stages of a student’s college enrollment into a one-day opportunity at Joseph Case High School.
Benefits of attending the Enrollment-Palooza are numerous. Besides the support of your school and the Guidance Department, participating students will:
- gain Admission to their program of choice
- schedule their placement testing appointment
- meet with an academic advisor to review their selected program of interest
- receive information about the FASFA financial aid
- have the opportunity to ask questions of staff professionals
- learn about the transfer programs offered
Seniors can register for an appointment to the Enrollment Palooza in the Guidance Office. Please see your counselor for more information.
Winter School 2.0 begins Friday, February 14
Winter School is a second chance for students who have failed the first semester. It is an opportunity that offers students hope that they can pass for the year, maintains the integrity of the class grade, and gives the students the skills, concepts and knowledge they need to successfully pass the second semester.
Winter School is basically Summer School moved into the Winter at the end of 1st semester.
Students pay a fee, are assigned personalized lessons of study based on what they failed (integrity) first semester, and upon successful completion of all assigned lessons (skills, concepts, knowledge), receive a 65, the lowest possible passing grade for the first semester (hope).
This is all completed using Edgenuity, an online learning forum.
Guidance counselors will meet with all identified students this week. Winter School officially runs through March 27.
Upcoming release time
- Wednesday, March 4: 11 a.m. release for students
- Tuesday. March 31: NEASC accreditation late start
