First Nine Weeks

Secondary ELA Presentation
Junior High and Intermediate Librarians presented on the importance of student book choice and gave some booktalks to ELA teachers in preparation of the upcoming school year.
Science Makerspaces
5th & 6th grade Science classes had the opportunity to spend a day in the library doing makerspace rotations that correlate to science standards.
Library Orientation and Book Checkout
Students visited the library for the first time this school year and were able to self select reading material based on interest.

Students were able to choose clubs and some chose to come and explore in the library with makerspaces.
Craftursday
Our second annual Craftursday in December allowed students to learn/practice using a sewing machine. They sewed paper ornaments out of recycled book pages.

Students were given the option to participate in weekly challenges and activities throughout the month of October to celebrate Booktober!

Our Spring Book Fair was cut short due to school closures, but we got one day of parent shopping in before Spring Break.

Students had a chance to evaluate different websites to determine if the information it provided was accurate.
Makerspaces
5th and 6th grade students were able to visit the library for the third time with their Science classes to create, learn, and explore.

Planning With Librarians
Even though we couldn't meet in person, Wylie Secondary Librarians still met to complete our Inquiry Lesson Planning that we had been working on this year.
Digital Book Collections
Our digital book collection, SORA Overdrive, got more use this spring as physical books from libraries were unavailable. Our dogs were happy to spend more time at home with us too.
