MATH Review

Have your child use their strategies to solve the problems.
Once they are finished, have them use their math talk to tell you how they solved their problems. They can also verbally count for you to 120 by 2's, 5's, and 10's.

Math: Place Value

Color My Clues Hundred Chart

Write the number 85 in the first number box and 92 in the second number box.
Have students circle groups of ten with different colored crayons to reach the number.

Eliminate it
Give students a page with four choices and ask the students to cross out, or eliminate the one that does not belong with the others.
Ask students to justify their reasoning, using academic language.
Students will then create a new representation to replace the eliminated one.
Students will explain why their new representation is similar to the other three.

Reading
I can retell the plot in fiction books.
1. Have your child read or listen to a fiction book. You can use books from home or go to Storyline Online or Get Epic.

2. They have been working on good reading habits all year. Have them tell you some of our good reading habits.
3. Once finished reading, have your student complete the story elements fiction story map. Turn in Fiction Story Map.

Writing
I can publish and share a personal narrative story.
Continue your narrative story or start a new one. Remind them to stretch their words and add details. Then they can add illustrations and labels to their writing. Please use the chart provided, to help bring their stories to life. When finished use the fab 5 writing checklist to “fix-up” their stories. Choose one narrative story you have been working on and celebrate it. You can facetime, zoom, video record, or read your story to a family member or friend.

I can gather evidence of interdependence among living organisms such as energy transfer through food chains or animals using plants for shelter.

Students can go outside and look in the trees in their yard or around their apartment. Look for living organisms that are using the tree for food or shelter.
Social Studies
Students can identify and describe how the human characteristics of a place such as shelter, clothing, food, and activities are based upon geographic location.
