Victory for the Colonies
The colonies have gained momentum. They defeated the British in the Battle of Saratoga. Daniel Morgan, a sharpshooter commander help prompted the victory. The British surrendered the battle on Oct. 17, 1777
How it Started
Last year sometime in December 1776 the colonies planned an attack on the British. They attacked the redcoats in a one sided fight. It was really unexpected. That prompted the British to plan an attack.
The Battle
John Burgoyne put Simon Frazier in charge of the redcoats. They made a march to Albany. Troops were startled when a Battle broke out in a forest which recoats are not used to. Daniel Morgan and the sharpshooters took out Simon Frazier and most of the redcoats. Eventually, the British troops fled and were encountered by Horatio Gates ( A colonial General). The redcoats eventually surrendered to Gates in New York. That can be a big momentum boost in the war for the colonists.
