Series:Matched trilogy, 1
Genre:First person narratives; Science fiction

Description:Cassia has always trusted the Society to make the right choices for her, so when Xander appears on-screen at her Matching ceremony, Cassia knows he is her ideal mate--until Ky Markham's face appears for an instant before the screen fades to black.

Imagine you live in a world where Officials decide what job you do, when you die, and who you marry.

Matched: I honestly did not enjoy this book at all. It was very unrealistic, and it did not catch my attention at all. This book was a slow read for me, and it took awhile to keep flipping each page. Summary:The book Matched is about a girl named Cassia who experiences the controlled life by Officials. When people Cassia's age go into the Matching, they don't expect anything to go wrong. In the Matching, the Officials will match you up with anyone THEY think will be the best match for you. When Cassia finds out who she's matched to, she finds out that her best friend, Xander, is her match. But suddenly, the screen turns black, and another name appears. Ky. Cassia doesn't know who this person is, but she has to chose between one of them. Cassia and Ky become great friends, and later, Cassia finds herself falling in love with him. And when she choses Ky, she realizes that he has escaped from the city. She follows him, determined to live a life with her love...... but it's not as easy as it seems.......

Appeal: Mostly girls
