Supporting Bengal Families- UPDATE
Dear Blake High School Families,
That you to all of our staff and community who have been donating to our fund to support our families in need. Our community has stepping up in a great way having donated over $4500 of funds and gift cards in our first week. We hope that this can continue in our second week. We will continue accepting donations until Friday, May 8th. We will start sending cards out to our families in need this week and will continue to support our families in any way we can.
Here is the donation information if you are willing and able:
You can help!
Over the next two weeks, we will be holding a drive for grocery store gift cards (such as Giant, Safeway, Target or CVS) for Blake families experiencing hardship. Parents will collect them, and Mr. Sinclair and staff will distribute the gift cards to families who need them.
If you would like to contribute, there are four ways to participate:
Option 1: Purchase a Physical Grocery Card and Drop Off it with Parent Collector
Leave your gift card in the marked box in front of the Parachini/Ferguson’s garage door (you may drive or walk up the driveway). Then text Patty so cards don’t sit outside too long. If you would rather write a check and leave it, we will purchase the gift card for you, no problem (see Option 2, below).
Patty’s address (not far from Blake High School)
16310 Whitehaven Rd.
Silver Spring, MD 20906
Patty’s cell 301-502-8962
Option 2: Mail a Check. PTSA Board Members will purchase a card on your behalf
Write a check to either Patty or Amy, and mail it to us.
Use Patty’s address, above.
Option 3: Online Purchase of Target e-Gift Cards
Send the e-gift card that you purchase (link is below) to pattyparachini@verizon.net. In addition, please send an email directly to Patty’s address and ensure you get a Confirmed! note. We will print these gift cards out for Mr. Sinclair to distribute.

Donations of any amount are appreciated, but if you can contribute $50, it will go a long way toward helping a family afford necessities.
If you have any questions, please email Patty at pattyparachini@verizon.net or Amy at creels@verizon.net.
20-21 Registration Confirmation
April 30, 2020
Dear Parents/Guardians:
These are truly unprecedented times which have required a new approach to our educational practices. Whether involving instruction, counseling or enrollment, we have had to adapt our methods to a digital platform to best serve our students and families.
As we forge ahead and embrace the possibility of a new school year, we are asking for your assistance with verifying your student’s course selections for the 2020-2021 school year . To accomplish this task you and your student will need to log-in to their student portal account. Once your student has logged-in, there will be several options on the left side of the page. Please locate and click the Class Registration heading. This will allow you to view your student’s course selections. This is not your child’s daily schedule.
Some courses may differ from your child’s original course requests due to course availability, and/or student enrollment. Please review these courses very carefully. If you would like to make adjustments to the course selections, please email your student’s counselor the requested changes. A list of counselor assignments is copied below.
All changes to course selections must be requested by Wednesday May 6, 2020. Changes requested after May 6th may not be possible due to scheduling restrictions.
