Text 67587 With the Message Y to Receive our Texts

As we transition to SchoolMessenger (who bought out our former company SchoolReach) we want to make sure all of you realize that you won't receive our texts unless you "opted in" when a previous text announcement was sent. We sent texts for all snow days. If you did not receive these, simply text to the number 67587 and in the message box type the letter y. You should immediately get a text acknowledging SchoolMessenger.

Happy 100th Day of School!

Cameras Add Another Level of Security at William Tell Elementary

Through an Indiana Safety grant with matching funds from the Tell City-Troy Township School Corporation, security cameras have been added at William Tell Elementary and to the school buses. As explained to the students and staff, these cameras provide another level of security, as all cameras can be tracked on-site and remotely. On announcements, Mrs. Noble explained that the cameras helped staff monitor who is in the building and if those in the building are practicing the lifeskill of responsibility with their actions and behaviors.

Science Bowl Team Finishes Top Ten in State

The William Tell Elementary Science Bowl Team finished 6th place in the state during their recent Science Bowl competition. The Science Bowl is an online competition with three rounds: an individual question round (only four students allowed to participate), a whole team question round, and an experiment round. The students actually take part in an online manipulation science experiment. We are proud of our Science Bowl team!

Valentine's Day Treat--Compliments of William Tell Elementary PTO

Thanks to the William Tell Elementary P.T.O. and the Wellness Committee, you do not need to send a Valentine's Day treat to school. This will be a cost savings to you, as the school will provide a healthy treat for the students. Thank you, P.T.O.!

Silly Safari--Thanks P.T.O.

Amazon John from Silly Safari visited the students on Monday, January 25th. Amazon John presented information about animal habitats, what the visiting animals eat and drink, where they are in the food chain, and if they are considered endangered. Even Ellie the Great Dane enjoyed a day in the spotlight. A special thanks to our PTO for funding this highly engaging presentation!

Academic Assembly Fun

Each 9 weeks we gather the K-2 students and the 3-6 students to the main gym to enjoy an academic assembly highlighting student accomplishments for the 9 week grading period. Recognized are the following awards: Attendance, Honor Roll, Distinguished Honor Roll, "Green" behavior, BUG (Bringing Up Grade), and any other groups such as Bowl teams (Spell, Science, Math), etc.

We do a fun activity to get the students and staff engaged at each assembly. Above see the pie throwing activities targeting Mrs. Noble and Mr. Wahl.
