A Message from our #ProudPrincipal, Dr. Robin Hardy
Happy Friday!
Mahatma Ghandi is noted as saying, "Be the change you want to see in the world." The Irmo High School Equity Team is working hard to ensure student voice and student leadership are at the forefront of our school improvement efforts.
Yesterday, student elections were held for Stinger Studies representatives for ongoing Town Hall Meetings to address the following questions: 1) What are the needs of the students? (i.e., What do students need in order to bring their "A game" and how can our community assist?) 2) What does the staff need to meet the needs of the students? 3) What are the needs of the school family? 4) What are some suggested strategies to meet the needs of the students, staff, and school family?
I look forward reporting our progress as we move forward as an Irmo Strong Community.
With Irmo Pride,
Dr. Robin L. Hardy

AP European History and the Oliver Cromwell Trial
Our 10th grade AP European History class took Oliver Cromwell to court! Students researched facts & figures central to the case and expertly represented their roles as attorneys and historical figures on the witness stand. Former AP Euro students volunteered as the jury. Thank you to Social Studies teacher Mr. Sugar for an innovative lesson!
Intro to Tech Theater, Costuming Project
The Technical Theater series of courses at Irmo High School teach students so many aspects of putting on a stage performance: building sets, stage makeup, costume design, sound, lighting, and more!
This past week, our Intro to Tech Theatre class had a blast with the final costuming project. Small groups had to work as a team to “Create a Character” from head to toe. They could choose a character from a book, movie, TV series, or one of their original creation.
