Announcements and Reminders

Attendance: Front office will send an email requesting attendance to be done, if not paper rosters will be printed and will need to be signed. Paper rosters will be filed as they require manual input from front office.

Last Monday I sent an email regarding white card stock cards. Student names should have been placed on card- if they have not shown up by 8:15 please have a student bring all of those cards up to the front so that we can begin making calls. We need to make sure students are coming every day unless of course they are ill. This is a school wide attendance initiative- everyone is required to utilize the cards. They will help us gather documentation on habitual tardies and absences and send the message to parents that we care and want their child here everyday!

Fundraisers: What do we want as our school fundraisers? Time is passing and we are allotted 2 school wide fundraisers. We have had several inquiries on Boo BASH, is this something we are all willing to do? I am not opposed to it- it will take a group effort. Please send me your ideas and feedback.

Fieldtrips: Ms. Flores has been researching and setting up presentations for K/1 and fieldtrips. There are so many free ones available! Cafeteria needs two weeks notice for lunches and we need no less than one month so that we can arrange transportation.

Recruitment/ Events: We are needing volunteers who are willing to represent Brooks at Siclovia during the following times 8:30-12 or 12-3:30. Volunteers will earn an extra 15 minutes at lunch and a JEAN PASS! We will also be hosting an Open tour day- more details to come!

Brooks is looking for Holiday Party Committee Members! Let me know if you are interested.

Dress Code: Jeans are always allowed on Fridays. During the week colored jeans are still not allowed.

Media Release- please make sure that you are not posting pictures of students on any personal social media platform. We need to have current media release for posting on school social media sites, we have not uploaded pics to the Estrella Facebook for this reason. Media Release, handbook acknowledgement form will be sent out this week. Current handbooks are available online. Classes that have 100% turn in will get a special treat!

3:30 Outdoor Dismissal Team Meeting- We will be moving to ALL SCHOOL outdoor dismissal next week. I have gotten to speak with a few of you. If possible- please attend for your input, PARAS- your attendance is appreciated as well.

Sept- 25 Siclovia Recruitment Event- Please say you can be there!

Sept 26- Conferences Begin- Make sure parents sign in on sign in sheet, you have an agenda of items discussed and it is signed- keep a copy for you and parent. I have sent some samples out- let me know if you need them resent.

Sept 27- Dr. Davidson visit

Sept 30- Parents can come sit with child for lunch. NO outside lunches (fast food)

Fall is coming! This means Red Ribbon Week and other fun Holidays ;) Start thinking about changing out doors to reflect the events.

Technology Update

Ms. Saenz has sent out directions for student access. I will place them in your box and you will take the students to set them up in the lab- Technology class will begin next week! Please create index cards or some other comparable item that will help with easy log in for paraprofessionals to get everyone logged on in a timely manner. Students will need to be set up in the lab.Follow this schedule for student set up:
