A little more about out Preschool Family!
Miss. Jo
I moved to Fairplay from Burlington, Vermont one year ago and I am loving it!
I just finished my AmeriCorps service year with the Boys and Girls club in which I facilitated programs and activities for PreK-2nd graders. I also helped out with the Keystone Science School program where I helped facilitate outdoor learning experiences for 3rd-5th graders.
I love to hike, play video games, and play card games with my friends. I am looking forward to the upcoming school year and meeting you all!
Miss. Ann
I am a Great Grandma of two and a Grandma of 15! I
love to work with littles, they are fun and enjoyable as I love watching them learn and grow . Some of my hobbies include reading, singing, hunting and fishin. I am truly blessed to be apart of Edith Teter preschool.
Miss. Kendra
I began my teaching career as a preschool gymnastics’ instructor. I was working in Summit County as a lead teacher for a preschool while finishing my Associates Degree. I just graduated in May 2021 from Red Rocks Community College in Lakewood, Colorado.
I love to be active and outside with my dogs while enjoying all the things Colorado has to offer. I believe that with loving, kind support all children can be independent and thrive in school. I am looking forward to meeting everyone and working closely with your child this coming school year.

What is Executive Function & Self-Regulation?
"Executive function and self-regulation skills are the mental processes that enable us to plan, focus attention, remember instructions, and juggle multiple tasks successfully. Just as an air traffic control system at a busy airport safely manages the arrivals and departures of many aircraft on multiple runways, the brain needs this skill set to filter distractions, prioritize tasks, set and achieve goals, and control impulses."

"Working memory can be commonly confused with short term memory. Short term memory refers to the short term information required for a verbal or visual task (e.g. remembering a phone number, blending sounds into words when reading, remembering objects, colours, location, direction). Working memory involves the manipulation and transformation of verbal and visual information (e.g. remembering instructions and their content to then carry it out, remembering what to say when called upon, keeping your place on the page when reading, reverse sequences of objects/numbers)."
