We have rounded out September and the school year is in full swing! Our families and teachers have taken the time during conference week to set goals for out students. We will spend the rest of the year working toward those goals. Fall is in the air and pumpkin season brings visitors to the Coastside and pumpkin traffic to navigate on the weekends. Personally I love this time of year, the crisp mornings and the spectacular sunrise and sunsets.

Our TK and K students are ready to transition to full day on Monday. We are excited for them to reach this next milestone. Staff, families and students are encouraged to welcome our young dolphins by embracing out "Rainbow Days" (see info below). Please remember that this will be an adjustment for your student. It is important to allow time for extra rest at home. Please try to adopt a schedule that encourages standard dinner and bed times.

Please be aware of our updated morning drop off procedures:

-Supervision begins at 7:45. There is NO supervision of students if they are dropped off before then.

-Breakfast begins being served at 7:45

-Students are to line up their backpacks outside of the classroom door FIRST (when arriving at school),

-proceed to the yard/blacktop area. Students are permitted to play during this time. Students should be mindful of playing safely and practicing SWIM

-When the whistle blows 4 minutes before the bell, play stops and all students line up in their regular lines. Encourage students to use the bathroom and get water at that time.

Please do not leave your car unattended in the parking lot red zone near the dolphin. This is a loading zone only. For emergency precautions, cars cannot be left unattended (even for five minutes). Please use one of the numerous parking spaces in our lot.

These students entered El Granada speaking primarily Spanish. They have demonstrated proficiency in English and are being reclassified as Fluent English Proficient. Congratulations on being fully bilingual! What a great accomplishment!

The PTO will be sponsoring a pumpkin patch here at EGE. The TENTATIVE date is 10/17. More information to come.
