A Message for Officer Laabs
Be aware of parking in a no parking zone, parking in a school bus loading zone, or parking and blocking a local neighbors driveway.
Second reminder is to be aware of all the student pedestrian traffic around school dismissal. Students don't always look both ways before they cross, or cross within the crosswalks. I also think that not all students fully understand the right-of-way with vehicle traffic. So your awareness and patience will be appreciated. Thanks!

- acknowledge that these changes are a normal part of growth and development
- This includes body changes that happen to both girls and boys
- Understand that personal hygiene is each individual’s responsibility
- Understand how girls manage their periods
- Learn about making good decisions and powerful words to make a positive impact
- Learn how to stay healthy and confident from the changes that occur to their brains, eating
- well, and staying safe
- Talk to parents and trusted adults about their feelings and questions during puberty to help
- them better understand and get the support they need
Students will be watching a video and will have time to discuss the content further and ask questions. In addition, we will discuss the importance of respecting everyone and their bodies. Following the maturity education lesson, we will provide students with informational booklets to take home with them: student and parent booklets. These are great resources that will allow you and your student to continue the conversation at home.
When your child takes Health, they will continue to learn more about puberty, reproductive health, birth control methods, pregnancy and childbirth, caring for infants & children, etc.
