Weekly Update
Flambeau Junior High
From the Principal's Office
Perhaps the greatest benefit to altering our high school schedule next year is our ability to offer more courses without an increase in the number of teachers. Doing so will allow our elective areas, such as Agriculture, Business, and Tech Ed to expand. Mrs. Bernecker, our Agriculture teacher, has done a great job creating engaging, relevant learning opportunities for our students, some of which are highlighted in this Weekly Update. It is exciting to think that we can offer even more of these opportunities to our students next year!
Weekly Attendance Update
One of our goals this year for the Junior High and High School is to increase our attendance. Each week, we’ll take a look at our attendance data. Remember, research has proven that regular attendance at school is directly related to achievement!

FFA Students Meet Temple Grandin!
On Tuesday the FFA went to see Temple Grandin Speak at Zorn Arena on the UW-Eau Claire Campus. Temple Grandin is talked about a lot in Mrs. Bernecker's classes. She is a passionate and influential advocate for the humane treatment of animals and is the world’s most accomplished and well-known adult with high functioning autism. Grandin has a doctorate in animal science and is a professor of animal science at Colorado State University. She specializes in livestock behavior and has pioneered the field of farm-animal welfare-using the insights gained from her autism to design humane livestock-handling systems that have revolutionized animal agriculture around the world. Her innovations in equipment and equipment and auditing systems have changed the livestock industry, improving profitability assuring consumers about the integrity of the food system. During the presentation Temple talked about different minds working together. Temple mentioned how she really liked the FFA because of all the learning by doing experiences that it gave students. Temple was very inspirational to the students are they stated that they agreed with all that she had to say.
