Catholic Bishops of Alberta and the Northwest Territories in reference to the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II

Please receive the following message from the Catholic Bishops of Alberta and the Northwest Territories in reference to the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II: The Catholic Bishops of Alberta and the Northwest Territories recognize Queen Elizabeth’s death as a unique, historical and cultural moment. Her Majesty reigned as Queen of Canada for 70 years, nearly half of our nation’s existence. During that time, she proved to be an exceptional Christian leader, a woman of prayer and devotion, who lived her vocation faithfully in service to God, to her family and to the Commonwealth. Furthermore, she (and her representatives) honoured and upheld the constitutional rights of all Canadians, including the freedom of religion, and as pertains specifically to Catholic schooling in Canada, supported certain protections and safeguards extended to Roman Catholic and other denominational schools to exist within the provinces of Canada. For these reasons, the Catholic Bishops of Alberta and the Northwest Territories honour both the life and the death of Queen Elizabeth II, and we encourage all Catholic parishes and institutions within Alberta and the Territories to mark her passing with reverence and respect. Let us all pray for Queen Elizabeth's soul and for the consolation of King Charles III and the Royal Family during this extraordinary time of grief. May she rest in peace.

Terry Fox Run this Thursday

Terry Fox set the bar high for himself when he started his Marathon of Hope, saying, “Nobody is ever going to call me a quitter.” Our school is proudly taking part in this year's Terry Fox School Run to continue Terry's legacy. Please support our school's fundraising efforts to raise much-needed funds for cancer research.

Our school will participate in the Terry Fox run on Thursday, September 22 at 2:00 pm.

(PUF Pathways and M/W Kindergarten classes will find an alternative time with their teachers).

Students can WEAR RED OR WHITE.

Parents, please make a donation to the Terry Fox Foundation. This can be done online.

Please do not send money to the school.

Just go directly to the fundraising link below. Please donate a minimum of $2
