It's here! It's really here!
Happy Saturday to our families!
We are so excited to be starting this school year with you! Monday is the big day, and staff has been working so hard to prepare to welcome students back into our hallways!
It was amazing to see all of you on Tuesday evening for Meet the Teacher night! Thank you for coming out to help kick off the 2021-22 school year! We also appreciate your support with the book fair! A shout out to all of our groups who hosted tables outside as well!
We were able to host our newest Peculiar Patriots on Thursday for Kindergarten Preview Day! The students were awesome and we had so much fun meeting them and showing them around the school.
As you may know, the Board of Education voted on Friday night, to require all students in early childhood through 12th grade to wear face coverings in all indoor settings when physical distance cannot be achieved. We ask that you send 2 masks with your child on Monday and throughout the school year.
It is going to be a great year, and we know that we can tackle anything with your help. Let's make this a super start to the school year.
While we cannot allow visitors into the building again this year, we will have a "welcome to school" yard sign display located in front of the school for you to take those "back to school" pictures. Please feel free to take pictures with your students in front of that sign or the marquee on Monday. We do ask that you do not walk your students up to the doors on Monday morning, in order to assist in social distancing and prevent congestion at the front doors. We appreciate your help with this.
Our staff is looking forward to Monday! Please be sure everyone gets a good night's rest Sunday night, and we will see you Monday morning!
If you have any questions in the meantime, please feel free to reach out through email, or give us a call at 816-892-1650.

Beginning of School Transportation Reminders:
As students learn the process, and parents adjust how their children go home, this can delay our dismissal process. We pay very close attention to how we are getting your child home safely to you, and will be double checking everything. So please give us grace and be patient if it takes a little longer for your child to get home this first week.
If you wish to change the way your child goes home, we ask that you please call the front office before 2:30 p.m. This will help us ensure your child gets home the way you request.
Please do not email those changes to teachers. They will not check their emails or messages until they have a plan time, so may miss the request. Call the front office at 816-892-1650 with any changes to dismissal plans for your child.
Thank you so much for helping us keep your child safe!
Face Coverings and Quarantine Information:
Please plan to send 2 masks with your student starting on Monday.

Breakfast and lunch meals for all students will be free during the 2021-2022 school year. But the district highly encourages you to complete the free and reduced lunch application....WHY you ask?....
Did you know that completing the application does more than qualify you for free meals at school?
It provides funding to our schools, provides students and families with discounts and reduced fees, and qualifies students for scholarships and financial aid.
You can assist our district in many ways simply by completing the form. You can complete the 2021-2022 application online at: https://www.myschoolapps.com/Application
FREE BREAKFAST AND LUNCH! Free breakfast and lunch will once again be provided to all students during the 2021-2022. For more information about RayPec's Child Nutrition Department, click this button
We invite all families to join the Peculiar PTA as members of our school community. Joining the PTA does not obligate you any job, but gives you the opportunity to contribute and vote on decisions for our school family. PTA membership is $10 per family.
Please click the link below to complete the membership form: PTA Membership Form
Our PTA also compiles a school directory to be distributed to only families in our building. Peculiar Elementary can not distribute personal communication between families, so the PTA provides contact information for the families. Each family may provide as much or little contact information as they choose.
