Parent Involvement

The annual District Parent Involvement Meeting will be held on Monday, April 8 at 5:30 pm in the Jr/Sr High Professional Learning Center. All parents and guardians of Anderson-Shiro CISD students are invited to attend the meeting to provide input on ways to develop and sustain a strong educational program that promotes parent involvement. At the meeting parents and guardians will have the opportunity to provide input on the district and campus parent involvement policies, home-school compacts, program evaluation for parent involvement, parent involvement needs and strategies to increase parent involvement.

CSCOPE

As you may know, there has been recent criticism surrounding the CSCOPE curriculum in Texas. Information about the CSCOPE curriculum can be found on the CSCOPE state website, http://www.cscope.us or by visiting the Teaching and Learning department page on the ASCISD website, www.ascisd.net. The Texas Education Service Center Curriculum Collaborative (TESCCC), has been working with state officials to be as transparent as possible regarding CSCOPE curriculum documents. TESCCC has been working with the CSCOPE technology provider to provide public access to CSCOPE lessons in early April and has published a public communication piece on the main CSCOPE website, http://www.cscope.us/032613.html regarding the public posting of lessons. In ASCISD teachers use the CSCOPE lessons as a resource, and so the content and instructional materials that teachers use are not necessarily the same as what is provided in the CSCOPE lessons. If you have any questions regarding the posting of CSCOPE lessons, please don't hesitate to contact your child's principal or myself.
