Parent Teacher Conferences

This week is Parent/Teacher Conference Week! These meetings are incredibly important as we want to partner with you in your child's education. Your child's teacher should already have reached out to you to schedule a meeting. We ask that you please make every attempt to attend your child's conference.

Family Night at the Book Fair

We would like to invite all of our families to join us for Family Night at Book Fair. While you are here for parent/teacher conferences, stop into the Book Fair and stock up on some books for your child! There will also be food trucks!

Class Meetings This Week

Every day, our students begin their day with a class meeting to discuss our habit of the week and other social skills that will help to make our Buffalo more well-rounded citizens. This week, our class meeting topics include:

  • Habit 6: Synergize!
  • How to make an apology

Family Picnic

We are excited to once again host our Fall Family Picnic on Wednesday, October 16th! Please click the flyer for more information!

Trunk or Treat!

One of my favorite nights of the year is coming up on Friday, October 18th and we need some TRUNKS to make it happen! If you're interested in decorating your trunk, please email Christy Auer at christyauer@yahoo.com and she will give you all the info you need. The more trunks we have, the more FUN we have! PLUS you get to hand out candy to some of the coolest trunk-or-treaters around! We look forward to seeing all of our Buffalo in their Halloween costumes for Trunk or Treat on the backlot!

If you have any additional fund-raiser orders or money, the absolute last day to turn in stuff is Tuesday, October 8th!

Author Visit

On Wednesday, October 9th author, Hena Kahn will visit Bierbaum Elementary to meet with third through fifth-grade students and share her love for reading and writing. Raised in Maryland, Ms. Kahn is a Muslim-American author who has used her talents as a writer to write both novels and picture books on a variety of interests including Islamic culture, sports, and even science-fiction!

Restaurant Nights

Throughout the year, we host several restaurant nights to raise funds for our school. Each restaurant has different rules for how to make sure that proceeds from your order come back to Bierbaum. But the important thing to remember is always to mention Bierbaum when ordering!

Here are our upcoming restaurant nights:

Bierbaum Elementary Mission Statement

To establish strong foundations for learning and character development by focusing on each individual child.

Fun Run

This fall at Bierbaum we are trying something NEW! We've partnered with Boosterthon to put on our very first Fun Run on November 1st! Students will be challenged to run as many laps as they can around the field for a chance to win prizes and raise money for new playground equipment. Parents, family, and friends will be able to sponsor students based on how many laps they run, or they can make a donation just for running! This is sure to be a fun day for our whole school, so be on the lookout for more info coming home about our very first Fun Run!

Thank you, Bierbaum Families!

Thanks to your support and participation, Bierbaum was able to host another amazing Scholastic Book Fair! With your help, we were able to earn an almost $5000 profit that will go directly to purchasing classroom supplies for students and teachers! And thanks to your Coin Challenge donations, Mrs. Merrick was able to come to the Book Fair and purchase over $800 of brand new books for the library! WOW! We earn Scholastic Dollars for each book we sell, which means that every time you bought a book for your child, it made it possible for US to buy a book for one of your child's friends or classmates! Our buffalo herd really is the best!
