Career Day- January 18th

This Thursday morning, guests will join us from many different career paths to share information and experiences with L.B. Clarke students. Our 6th annual career day will help bring part of the work world to school and allow kids to interact with people in fields the may be interested in as a career. We are excited to welcome our guests for career day!

Congratulations L.B. Clarke Spellers!

Over the past few weeks, each grade level has conducted its spelling bee in order to advance spellers to the all-school spelling bee this Wednesday, January 17th. The all-school spelling bee will start at 9am and parents, grandparents, and special guests are welcome to come watch.

Our L.B. Clarke champion will move on to the regional spelling bee in Chilton later in the month. The winner of the regional spelling bee will move on to the state spelling bee in Madison!

Important Changes: After School CLC Programs and Busing

Beginning with session 3 CLC and After School Resource, which runs from January 22-March 22, busing times will change:

  • There will no longer be a 4:15pm bus.
  • There will be a 5:00 or 5:30 bus (depending on the day) to bring students home.
  • You may pick-up your child at 4:15, but this must be consistent throughout the session.
  • Pick-ups should take place between 4:15 and 4:25.

This means students who stay for CLC classes or After School Resource will be at school from 3:25pm until the end of CLC at 5pm or 5:30pm (depending on the night) unless they are picked up by a parent between 4:15-4:25pm.

Athletics Update

The 8th grade girls started out their LBC season with a big win over 1st year program Sheboygan Urban. Eleven girls contributed to the 59-10 victory. The girls displayed excellent team defense in reaching their defensive goal for the game of allowing less than 12 points. Strong execution on offense and finding the open player for easy baskets all aided in a nice home win!

The 7th grade B team played a hard fought game but ended up losing to Sheboygan Falls. Olivia Stanley led the team in scoring with 5 points followed by Allie Eis with 2 points. The 7th grade A team won in a tough match against Sheboygan Falls. Two Rivers led by three points at the end of the third quarter but then pulled away in the fourth quarter to earn the 25-17 win. Leading scorers were Allyson Kakes with 9 points, Claire McGinty with 5 points, and Alexa Zimney with 3 points.

FIND OUT WHAT WE'RE DOING IN...

Cold Weather Clothing!

We are now experiencing winter weather and winter clothing is a necessity. Students are outside until 7:50am each day and go outside for recess at lunch. We have many kids coming to school with no winter jackets, hats, and gloves. Please make sure your child is leaving the house each morning with these essential winter clothes.

Please contact me or a trusted adult at school if financial conditions are causing difficulty in purchasing these items. We have resources in the magic closet. We need to keep our kids warm in winter!
