School Board Notes
September 2018
The Meetings in Review
Dr. Susan Angstadt, Director of Pupil Services for Methacton, presented the Board with an overview of the R.E.A.C.H. (Raising Expectations and Children’s Hopes).
This new intensive mental health program, approved by the Board, will be implemented at Arcola Intermediate School. The district is partnering with Springfield Psychological to provide these services and supports for our students. As noted in the presentation, R.E.A.C.H. will allow students who require this level of care in order to continue to participate in Methacton School District’s academic and extra-curricular programs. During the month of October, Springfield Psychological will be working with district administrators to develop the implementation timeline and the referral process.
The Board voted to accept an agreement of sponsorship between Merck, Sharp & Dohme Federal Credit Union and the Methacton School District to place a banner on the stadium field fence for four years in exchange for $5,000. The district is pleased to count the credit union among the early sponsors whose support of The Methacton School District and its students is so valued.
All other items listed on the September 25 agenda were approved.

Award of Excellence

"She knows how to appropriately handle confidential information and complex student-related matters. In addition, Pat is a multi-tasker who knows how to deal with the constant interruptions that occur in the Pupil Services office at least a 100 times a day. Pat is, without a doubt, a tremendous asset to the District and the department!" Dr. Angstadt added.
