HESSE K8 SCHOOL>>> Week May 14, 2023
Updates & Reminders for the Week of May 14, 2023
Hello Hesse Bears!
We want to wish all of our mother's a Happy Mother's Day as we prepare for the last full week of school! Thank you to all of our parents and PTA members who made last week a great week celebrating our teachers and staff members. A special shout-out to Gretchen Eichenlaub who worked tirelessly each day to treat our teachers with thoughtful surprises! Thank you for all the work you put into this week to make it special for our staff!
Check out the school calendar for a very busy month of May! This week we recognize our students who have earned special awards! Make sure you mark your calendar for these special events for each grade level and extra-curricular ceremonies! Please review the NEW district policy for visitors when entering the building for ALL large events. This is an extra precaution the district has implemented to keep all of our students, staff and parents safe while on school campus.
Thank you for following all school procedures and making Hesse the PLACE to be!!
Welcome New Principal, Ms. Alonna Curry!
Joining Ms. Curry's team is Assistant Principal, Mrs. Tamika Wright. Mrs. Wright has a wealth of experience in administration and will be a great addition to our administrative team.
We want to wish Mrs. Erica Ross the best as she will begin her new chapter at Rice Creek K8 as Assistant Principal. We know she will share her knowledge and provide the best support for the Rice Creek Eagles. Thank you for all of your hard work supporting our Hesse Bears!

Athletics.... Let's go Bear Nation!
Great job Hesse Bears! That's a wrap for our sports for the year.
We will recognize our athletes on Wednesday, May 17th at 6 PM in the cafeteria. Please remember your clear bags to enter the event.
Middle School Athletics are for students in 6th-8th grade. Our students compete in the following sporting events: Cross Country, Softball, Volleyball, Cheerleading, Swim Team, Basketball (girls and boys), Baseball, and Soccer (girls and boys). A physical must be on file with the school before any student is allowed to try out for a sport. Parents can join our Hesse K8 Booster Club to support these athletes.

Technology
We are excited to begin our year with one to one technology. Every student will need a device to enhance the learning experience at Hesse K8. All families should complete the Student Learning Device Loan form located on Power School - Parent Access. We encourage all families to purchase the Family Protection Plan which will cover the cost of 2 damaged devices. Please see the link below for step by step instructions to locate forms.
Free WIFI/Discounted Internet Services
Families can log into the district WIFI on the bus ramp or parent pick up ramp. You will need your student log in and password to connect to the district WIFI.
Comcast is also offering families who qualify discounted internet services through Internet Essentials by Comcast for $9.99 a month. More information can be found at https://internetessentials.com/. This is a fantastic program to keep all students connected to learning.
