A Message from Fr. Mahoney and Second Term Honor Students
Fr. Mahoney has asked me to share this announcement that was read during the weekend Masses at both Holy Ghost and St. Bridget Parish.
"Cardinal Sean’s Office contacted Fr. Mahoney this past week on Ash Wednesday and spoke to him about the upcoming Collaboratives that are being formed on June 1st.
The Cardinal asked Fr. Mahoney to become the Pastor of St. Margaret Parish and St. Malachy Parish both located in the Town of Burlington.
Come this June: Fr. Mahoney has been Pastor at St. Bridget’s for 13 years and has assisted at Holy Ghost for over 8 years; 6 of those years as Administrator and then as Pastor of Holy Ghost when our Collaborative was formed. This has been his longest assignment he has ever had.
Fr. Mahoney has always gone where the Archbishop has asked him to go. Of course, after prayerful consideration, Fr. Mahoney has accepted the Cardinal’s requested appointment. He is grateful to the Cardinal for his confidence in him to create a New Collaborative in Burlington.
We should know within the next couple of months – hopefully earlier - who will be named the New Pastor of this Collaborative.
Please keep the Cardinal in prayer as he seeks the guidance of the Holy Spirit when he appoints a new Pastor for Abington and Whitman.
And please keep Fr. Mahoney in prayer as he prepares to lead two parishes into a brand new Collaborative in Burlington beginning on June 1st."

Everett’s Auto Body in Brockton has donated the use of one of their flatbed trucks for the parade.
PLEASE HELP!!! Decorating of the truck will begin in the Saint Bridget school parking lot at 9am – Sunday
- You must be at the school parking lot by 11:30 am to ride over to the parade starting point with us or meet us at our parade starting point by 12:30 pm to walk with the float
- ALL CHILDREN who are riding on the float MUST REMAIN SEATED at all times, so please bring a pillow and/or blanket for comfort
- The truck will bring riders back to the school parking lot

- The class with the highest percentage of turn out will earn an EXTRA RECESS!
We will be lining up at the same place we have for the last several years, at the end of Thaxter Ave. We are in the second division and will start shortly after the beginning of the parade. The parade ends at the Cellar Tavern in Abington.
