Canada's Mental Health
An under recognized issue
1 in 3 people will be affected by a mental illness in their life
10.1% of Canadian citizen in 2012 have been reported to have one or more symptoms of a mental illness
The most common disorder is a major depressive episode
Majority of the percentage is youth aged 15 - 24. More youth girls have a form or a mental illness, while boys have more reports of substance abuse. The least amount of the percentage is the oldest age group, age 65+.
More awareness needs to be brought to this issue
Many people suffer from some form of a mental illness, but many may not know it yet. Going to get tested is a good thing so you can get help and return to strong mental health and live a happy normal life
When having a mental illness, not so nice labels can be given to you. It can be from yourself or others around you
The month of May has been dedicated to mental Health awareness
