Circulatory System
By: NOAH RUDOLPH
MAIN FUNCTION OF THE SYSTEM
Responsible for the flow of blood, nutrients, oxygen and other gases, hormones to and from the cells.
MAIN PARTS OF THE SYSTEM
Blood vessels (which are arteries and veins), heart and spleen
WHAT EACH PART DOES
Heart is a muscle that pumps blood throughout the body. Veins carry blood back to the heart. Arteries carry blood away from the heart. The spleen filters the blood.
HOW THIS SYSTEM AFECTS OTHER SYSTEMS
The circulatory system is the center of all life for the body because it transports blood , oxygen , food, and water throughout the body. If it doesn't function properly all other systems will suffer.
HOW OTHER SYSTEMS AFFECT THIS SYSTEM
Digestive system provides nutrients to keep your body healthy. The skeletal system and muscular system holds the circulatory system in place.
PROBLEMS OF THIS SYSTEM
High blood pressure, angina, aortic aneurysm, atherosclerosis and peripheral vascular disease.
EFFECTS OF ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS ON THE SYSTEM
Smoking narrows blood vessels and may cause high blood pressure.
THREE FUN FACTS
1. Your heart is as big as your fist.
2. You can live without your spleen.
3. It takes 20 seconds for blood to circulate through the entire body.
