Hansen Weekly Update

October 28, 2022

Big picture

Hi Hansen Students, Parents, and Families!

As hard as it may be to believe, we have just wrapped up our final week of school in October, and are ready to charge forward into November! Our students and staff continue to work hard and show up each day with positive energy and commitment and we are excited for what's ahead.

As we move further into the Fall and the weather gets cooler, please be sure your child is dressed for the weather of the day. We will continue to get outside for recess as often as the weather allows, so please be sure students are coming with sweatshirts, jackets, and hats as needed. If anyone is in need of any warmer clothing items, please do not hesitate to reach out to us, and we are happy to help as often as we are able.

Please enjoy some of this week's highlights below...

Creating a Culture of Equity, Achievement, Inspiration, and Joy!

Reveal Math Parent Information Night!

On Wednesday, November 2, there will be a webinar available for parents/guardians to learn more about our new Reveal Math curriculum. At the bottom of this update, please review the attached flyer which contains more details as well as the link to register for the webinar.

Do not hesitate to reach out with any questions and we hope you will join us!

Halloween Dress - Monday

We know many of our students are excited to celebrate Halloween on Monday! We will not be holding any school-wide events, though some classrooms may hold their own activities to acknowledge the day. Should anyone choose to dress-up, it is important that nobody bring any objects/toys that are part of a costume and that each student's face is visible throughout the day (no masks or make-up).

We appreciate your support and are looking forward to a great start to the week!

Cantonstock Is Coming! Saturday, November 5

Cantonstock is a day filled with music, food, games, and raffles! It is the primary fundraiser for Musiccounts! Please click here for more information, and all students and families are welcome!

Parent/Teacher Conferences

Parent/Teacher Conferences are approaching, and we are looking forward to connecting with families! Conferences will be held on Thursday, November 17 from 5:30 - 8:00 p.m. and again on Friday, November 18 from 1:00 - 3:30 p.m.

Teachers will be coordinating meeting times with families, and there are options to participate virtually or in-person. Please note, whatever you initially indicate as your preference will be scheduled and families will not be able to change (for example, if you indicate your wish for a virtual conference, you will not be able to switch to in-person). While we do our best to accommodate the needs of families, this creates disruption to our schedules. We appreciate your understanding, and again, we are looking forward to connecting with our families during the two conference dates!

REMINDER: Canton Public Schools Job Fair!

On Wednesday, November 9, the Canton Public Schools will be holding a Job Fair at the Rodman Administrative Building. We are looking for great applicants interested in joining our team, and please review the attached flyer at the bottom of the update for more information!
