When you receive your year long schedule please review it and make sure you're not missing a graduation requirement. You can do this by checking your Graduation Status Tab in StudentVue. If you see any gray bars indicated, you'll need to request an additional class.
If you discover you are missing a graduation requirement please pay close attention to our SEHS Scheduling Department Website for the timeline and process to adjust your schedule. You can also contact your counselor for help.

Purple Packet for 4 Year College Applications
If you're planning to apply to college this year you'll likely need academic materials from SEHS. The Purple Packet is our way of gathering and tracking what you need from us. The form will walk you through how to get a counselor recommendations, a teacher recommendations and transcripts. Please do your best to complete this at least two weeks before your first college application deadline. You can pick up a Purple Packet from Leann before, during or after your Senior Interview.

The Personalized Learning Requirements
The Senior Experience is one of two pathways seniors in the Classic South program can take to fulfill their personalized learning graduation requirement. If a Classic South student does not do a Career Technical Education project they will do a Senior Experience. The students in the International High school complete the IHS requirements. Each pathway will have unique activities and assignments that meet the State of Oregon’s Personalized Learning and Extended Application graduation requirements.
International High School (IHS)
The students in the International High program complete the personalized learning requirements largely during Junior Seminar.
You will complete the career focused activities with a variety of online activities and activities during the advisory time so attendance is key. Fall term of Junior Seminar Curriculum
Senior Experience
Students that choose to meet their personalized learning through a Senior Experience will complete Career Related Learning Experiences, also known as CRLEs.
CRLEs are activities that occur in the community, in a workplace, or within school, that connect classroom learning with the paths students might follow after high school.
Career-Technical Education (CTE)
Career-Technical Education (CTE) prepares students for high-skill, high-wage, high-demand jobs where you can be creative, innovative, and self-directed after high school. South’s programs focus on student collaboration, real-world relevance, and leadership development opportunities.
Click on the photo or here for the SEHS CTE program.
Junior Project Support Available
The Junior Project is a big part of the Personalized Learning requirement and if you did not have a chance to complete that as a junior, you should as a senior. The Junior Project modules should still be available on your Canvas account.
If you have any questions about the specific components of the project please contact Lori Sauter at sauter_l@4j.lane.edu.
Volunteering & Gap Year Opportunities
Common Application
The Common Application (Common App) is a non-profit representing nearly 900 diverse institutions of higher education. They connect applicants to a wide array of public and private colleges and universities across all 50 U.S. states, and 20 countries.
If you are using the Common App to apply to colleges please don't forget to put your colleges in Naviance and Common App, you will also need to Match the two programs. Here is a How to Video Link
Naviance
If you completed the Junior Project you're pretty familiar with Naviance at this point. It's a great way to explore college admission standards and organize the required documents and deadlines. Over the summer after junior year or during Fall semester you'll want to start narrowing your focus on colleges you want to apply to and be able to feel good about moving or add colleges to the I'm Applying To" section on Naviance.
How to Add Colleges to the "I'm applying to" list in Naviance
Transcript Request Form
Having an Initial transcript is sometimes a requirement for the college(s) you're applying to. For the initial transcript request we ask that you complete a transcript request form, which you could get form Leann Hollenbeak in the counseling office. You will need to make sure you put college(s) in the "I'm applying to" section of Naviance in order for us to send them. Later in the year you might also need a mid-year school report which is just a transcript after Fall semester grades are added. At the end of the school year you'll want to complete the form again to send your final transcript to the college you're planning to attend.
UO Fall Admissions & DuckLink
The UO has three ways to apply for admission. (Oregon Application, Common App & Coalition App)
UO does not prefer one over the other, it's just a matter of preference for the applicant but we recommend the Oregon Application because it is the most streamlined.
If you would like to take a UO course while in high school you might qualify for the Duck Link program. To qualify for Duck Link you must show outstanding academic performance in a subject area and have exhausted all available course offerings in a particular subject area. Check it out here

We do have electronic payment vouchers if the cost of the exam is a hardship to you and your family. Check let Leann Hollenbeak know of this desire for one of them.
Scholarships and WUE
The SEHS College & Career Center has also compiled a number of local and national scholarships that you can apply to. You can find them at Career-Center Scholarships which is also on the SEHS webpage.
