Our Highlights: What We've Been Rockin' At!
What a trip around the world we have been taking! We kick-started our journey learning about different countries by taking a flight to the following countries:
- Papua New Guinea
- China
- Brazil
- Egypt
- and Russia
By flight, I mean, taking a trip in our make-shift plane, taking off like a real airplane, and flying over each country. Check out a very quick recap of our journey by watching the movie above.
Each country is on a different continent so we did a lot of traveling! We learned the current weather and time there, found out how many hours it would take us to fly there, and flew over some important landmarks. Our fantastic flight crew passed out pretzels and water during our flight. After traveling to each country, we later learned more about the country and area from each teacher who specialized in teaching about a certain country. We recorded what we learned in our travel journals.
Postcards from Around the World
We also received some postcards from Papua New Guinea, Brazil, and Russia this week. Our first one was delivered to us by Mr. Eick and it was very exciting!
After learning about these countries further by each teacher, students then decided in pairs, which country they wanted to learn more about and then researched them. They will finish up their research this coming week and present on Thursday.
Reminder: students are to bring a dish from the country that they researched or from their own culture for our feast after our presentations on Thursday, December 18th.

Olaf thinks that we rock!
We also wrote letters to Olaf this week. The letters were adorable! Some of them said, "I hope you have a fun day with Jaxson today!" and "I can't wait to play again with you tomorrow!" Ask your kid some of the places that Olaf has been hiding!
Can you find where olaf hid?
