A Peek Into Our PLCs:
Our teachers and staff continue to be grateful for the 2pm dismissal days that allow for collaboration time focused on student data, best teaching practices, and tiered instruction. Over the next few weeks, you'll see a different grade level/team highlighted in the weekly Bobcat Bulletin sharing a little peek into what is happening during their PLC time on Fridays and/or why they are so thankful for this time as professionals. Enjoy!
The third grade team has chosen to focus our district provided PLC time heavily on math this year. During our PLC, we create goals for our students, analyze student performance and create intervention and enrichment plans for our students based on their individual needs. We prioritize the essential state standards that students must know before leaving third grade. There is a heavy emphasis on multiplication. We are so fortunate to be given the gift of time to do this important work to ensure the success of all students in third grade.
Thank you PTSA for ALL you do to support our Bobcats!

Weekly Message from the Founder of ALL THINGS EQ (Danna Evans):
Our motto in school this week is:
I drop my shoulders.
I take a few breaths.
I can handle this.
Problems are a part of life, so naturally, they will be a part of our children's lives too. When our children take a moment to pause and become calm when dealing with life's frustrations, they are better able to process the problem and focus on solutions. Taking a pause helps our children to avoid thoughts that sound like:
"This isn't fair!" or "Why me?"
Answers to these questions likely include pity or blame, and they keep us stuck in the problem rather than help us find a solution. By pausing, even for a moment, and affirming that we can overcome our challenges, we are better able to respond thoughtfully instead of reacting emotionally. A thoughtful response to our challenges sounds more like the following:
"How can I best respond to what happened?" or "What can I do now to fix this?"
The answers to this question will be solution-oriented and focused on what's next rather than on what happened. So, the next time your child feels frustrated, encourage them to let their shoulders drop down away from their ears, take a few deep breaths, and remind them that they are excellent problem solvers and that they will solve this problem too! You can help them begin by asking the right questions, such as, what do you think we should do next?
After all, success doesn't happen because of the absence of frustrations and mistakes; it happens because of how we handle them.
