Big picture

This Wednesday we will be starting a new four week series called Choices. This week we will look at who we choose to serve and how that choice can either positively or negatively affect our whole lives. The passage for this week is Joshua 24:14-15 for those who would like to read ahead. See you all there!!!

Crippling Shame

I listened to a podcast this week on shame. In it, Mary Wilson said something very poignant. "When we orient ourselves to our Father’s gaze, we are no longer desperate for the approval of others—we don’t look for acceptance from people who are destructive forces in our lives or from relationships that are unhealthy or ungodly.”

I know in my own life the damaging affect of shame. Of course I do not mean the shame that results from realizing you have done something wring or silly. I mean the shame and self hatred that lingers. the shame that says you will never be good enough or you will never achieve what you are aiming for. The Enemy is crafty and he knows our weaknesses. The most damaging thing he can do to a Christian is to make him/her doubt themselves. The good news is that Christ is our victory and he has removed our shame and our condemnation. I have included a link to the podcast below. God Bless!!!!!
