K-12 Cybersecurity Education

What does cybersecurity mean to K-12 Comp Sci teachers?

First Annual National K-12 Cyber Security Education Conference

This conference was held in Maryland in conjunction with the 13th Annual Cyberethics, Cybersafety and Cybersecurity Conference (C3). CSTA was invited and CSTA board members were on two panels and had a session on the CSTA K-12 Standards for Computer Science. There was significant representation from government agencies, K-12 Education, Higher Education, corporations and non-profits interested in education.

Links for Cyber Citizenship

These links are grouped around the topics of helping students (and ourselves) stay safe online. Many have educator resources and can be used in the classroom at the elementary, middle school and/or high school level.

Links to Raise Awareness

The following links are geared toward raising general awareness of the importance of cyber everything or more specifically, the abundance of jobs in the field.

Curriculum Links

These are websites that are providing curriculum resources for K-12 in cybersecurity and ethical hacking.

Cybersecurity Competitions

When you have students who are interested, but no class time to devote to cybersecurity or hacking, you can always have an extra curricular club to participate in these competitions!
