What does cybersecurity mean to K-12 Comp Sci teachers?
First Annual National K-12 Cyber Security Education Conference
This conference was held in Maryland in conjunction with the 13th Annual Cyberethics, Cybersafety and Cybersecurity Conference (C3). CSTA was invited and CSTA board members were on two panels and had a session on the CSTA K-12 Standards for Computer Science. There was significant representation from government agencies, K-12 Education, Higher Education, corporations and non-profits interested in education.

Links to Raise Awareness
The following links are geared toward raising general awareness of the importance of cyber everything or more specifically, the abundance of jobs in the field.
Life Journey is based on career ideation as a motivation for students to learn specialized material.
Day of Cyber is not a specific date, and not available yet, but it is open for pre-registration. You can create a district-wide event with Day of Cyber, which includes LifeJourney.
Digital Forensics Consortium has several resources around the career of modern forensics.

These are websites that are providing curriculum resources for K-12 in cybersecurity and ethical hacking.
A library of cyber learning - free - online. A+ Certification, ethical hacking, advanced courses, are all available for free.
A collection of lessons for students on ethical hacking.
This site has a collection of lessons for teens, tweens and kids based on the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Cybersecurity Competitions
When you have students who are interested, but no class time to devote to cybersecurity or hacking, you can always have an extra curricular club to participate in these competitions!
