anne frank
She hid for 2 years from the Nazis during WWII. She was captured by the Nazis. She died of Typhus right before her camp's liberation. Anne Frank had a world famous diary, one that has touched millions. Here are some of the most famous notes.
"Mr. Bolkestein, the Cabinet Minister, speaking on the Dutch broadcast from London, said that after the war a collection would be made of diaries and letters dealing with the war. Of course, everyone pounced on my diary."
- March 29, 1944
"When I write, I can shake off all my cares."
- April 5, 1944
"Have you ever heard the term 'hostages'? That's the latest punishment for saboteurs. It's the most horrible thing you can imagine. Leading citizens--innocent people--are taken prisoner to await their execution. If the Gestapo can't find the saboteur, they simply grab five hostages and line them up against the wall. You read the announcements of their death in the paper, where they're referred to as 'fatal accidents'."
- October 9, 1942
"All college students are being asked to sign an official statement to the effect that they 'sympathize with the Germans and approve of the New Order." Eighty percent have decided to obey the dictates of their conscience, but the penalty will be severe. Any student refusing to sign will be sent to a German labor camp."

Food the great
Also one is Koffie Verkeerd, which is basically coffee with a bunch of warm milk in it.
Another is Stamppot, a food with Vegetables mixed with gravy and a piece of sausage on top.
This is a long river, replacing the streets.
Windmills and dikes make the Netherlands famous.
Lights on!!!
Religion and U.S similarities
Amsterdam is very much like the U.S.A. They eat almost the exact same foods, they have the same alphabet (but with different words), and have a lot of unique technology.
The religions go like this:
60% atheist
17% Christian
14% Islam
The rest is Hindu, Buddhist, Indigenous, etc. etc. etc. etc.
Netherlands flag
Apparently, people of Amsterdam love bikes.
People in Amsterdam turn on their lights at sunset, like most huge cities.
Just what it says in the photo.
