Quantum IFS
A part is a particle, except when it's a wave.
Presented by Bruce Hersey LCSW
If you've been an IFS therapist for any amount of time, you've had quandaries about whether and when to do In-Sight versus Direct Access. How can the Self be absorbed so instantaneously and completely by a part? And what is it with all these polarizations?
What if these phenomena operate or originate in the quantum realm and can be understood in quantum terms? Ideas like the Uncertainty Principle, Complementarity, and Quantum Entanglement can be useful in IFS even if you are not a physicist. Even if you flunked physics, have exiled every scientific or mathematical bone in your body...
Quantum means a minimum amount, the smallest possible quantity. It generally refers to the amount of energy required to get an electron to jump up or down one level of orbit in an atom. It is about energy and change at the finest and most basic level of material reality.
Learn how detailed observation at the quantum level of parts changes the part being observed. Detailed observation involves having an understanding of the numerous potential dimensions of measurement. Learn a technology of curiosity and witnessing.
Find out how polarized parts are always entangled, unable to exist in their current form without its complementary polarized part in exactly its own current form. So that changing one immediately changes the other.

Course Objectives
By the end of the training participants will be able to:
- Define what is meant by the term ego state.
- Name at least three constituent elements of ego states.
- Describe what type of energy binds the elements of ego states, and where this energy typically originates.
- Name three or more characteristics of the core self.
- Explain how ego states operate in a systemic manner.
