Clinton Cougar Newsletter
May 2021
Dear Clinton Families,
With spring in the air, we are focused on helping our students learn and grow as much as possible before school lets out. Our students are working hard on state end-of-level testing, which we will wrap up in the next couple of weeks. With the 4-day school week this year, our teachers have been very focused on getting the most out of every minute with their students, and will keep doing that right to the end of the year.
Thank you to the parents who came out to our Summit Learning Parent Night. The teachers and I were excited to share what we have learned about this program and how we hope it will help us better meet the individual needs of every child in our 5th and 6th grades.
There will be an open house on May 21st from 1:30-3:00 for anyone who want to express thanks to our retiring teachers. Mrs. Hull, Mrs. Thorsted, Mrs. Feeman, and Mrs. Jensen will be given a warm send off.
We have several fun end-of-year activities that we will be doing, especially the last week of school. We may be wearing masks, but it won't stop us from enjoying some of our usual traditions such as 6th grade graduation, Field Day, fire truck, yearbooks, and many other loved traditions.
This has surely been a memorable year, and we plan to finish strong! Thanks for your help and support.
Sincerely,
Julie Lundell

Counselor's Corner
This month we will be focusing on having a good attitude to finish strong, sportsmanship and matching the size of a problem we have with the size of our reaction to the problem. Most problems that happen in life are small, but our reactions don’t always show that. After dealing with a world wide pandemic for more than a year and all the emotions that go with that, tempers can be short and reactions can be big. This month will be a reminder that although we can’t always control what happens, we can always control our reactions.
PTA
The PTA is super excited to be hosting a Field Day this year! It will be on June 2nd. We will be needing lots of volunteers to run all the stations. If you can help, please contact Staci Cahoon at stacicahoon83@gmail.com
The PTA is looking for parents interested in serving on the board next year. Please contact Stacie Cahoon.
Help is needed for all kinds of activities, whether you are available in the daytime, or the evening, there is something that will fit your schedule.
It's a great way to participate in school events, and get to know other parents.
Summer
If you have new neighbors, have them come over to register. If your student is moving to another school, come by and let us know.
