Less-Paper Spotlight: Digital Worksheets
Instead of printing a worksheet and making copies for students (that we know they are just going to lose), move that file to your FCS Google Drive.
Then, create an Assignment in itslearning and attach the Google Doc to it. When you do, change the setting to "Make a copy for each student." That way students will all have their own copy in their Google Drive that they can't lose and they can submit it directly back to you.
BENEFITS:
- You'll actually be able to read all their answers when they turn it in.
- You'll have all your papers in one place to easily grade.
- Students will lose editing rights to the document once they turn it in to you, so you don't have to worry about them turning it in and then continuing to work on it.
Check out the full Challenge Board HERE. To play along, click the blue "Use Template" button to make your own copy, then share it back to me. After you complete each challenge, add a checkmark image to the square that you did and a comment sharing how it went!
"Nearpodize" Your Google Slides Presentations!
I actually like to do this with NEW presentations as well, The slide editor in Nearpod is a little limited and I like my slides to be "prettier" than Nearpod allows natively. So instead, I build my CONTENT in Google Slides, use the Nearpodize extension to transform it, and then add the interactive elements where I want them to go.
The Nearpodize extension is already on the approved list, so scroll up and add it now!
NOTE:
- You will sign in to your Chrome browser using your FCS Google account (forsythk12.org).
- You will sign in to Nearpod using your Outlook email (forsyth.k12.ga.us).
Classroom Visits
I will stay 10-15 minutes max (unless you request otherwise) and I won't come in if it looks like you're giving a test. I certainly won't make it into every classroom, but I hope to visit 20 or so per school. If you want to be on my MUST VISIT list, fill out THIS FORM so that I can be in contact before I come out.
